Still No Video, But...

We just got back from another successful gig at the Diving Cat. Markels, the owner, had a beautiful spread of food, the crowd was consistent throughout the night, and the weather was beautiful right until we finished hauling all the equipment back into our car - then we got a massive downpour with the most spectacular lightening storm we've ever seen!

We also added a few songs to set list including "Air that I Breathe" by The Hollies, "Seasons of Wither" by Aerosmith, "Races are Run" by Stevie Nicks (from Buckingham Nicks) and "Man on the Moon" by REM.

Here's a picture of Markels creating a glass bead. She's SUCH an amazing artist!!! (This shot was taken through a glass window. Pretty cool, huh?)

Sorry, still no video, but here are a few more pics from the show:

Oh, to be a singer and musician as well as a writer. I feel so one-dimentional. I've always dreamded of standing on a stage. Good for you!

Bet the audience enjoyed it too!

Seem like a great way to be ... I am envious, being able to sing, write and I am assuming create original music.

It isn't bad being able to cover music as well. I would love to be able to play a guitar and sing Morrissey songs ...

... looks like good times!

Looking forward to the video. Glad that the gig went really well. It must be such an enjoyment for you.

MJ, I'm sure you're anything but one-dimensional! Performing is fun. I love connecting with the audience and bringing people into the music. It is, after all, the universal language!

Angie, Wish you could be here! I'd love to have my crazy southern gf rocking out to our music.;-)

Mark, Yup, we normally do mostly originals, but we've had fun doing covers for these shows. You can hear a few of our songs at http://www.myspace.com/karmachain (the link is on my blog). Morrissey is a genius!

CCD, It is an enjoyment. I've been so immersed in my writing lately, that I've ignored my musical side. It's great to have that outlet as well.;-)

How wonderful! :) When's your first CD coming out? I want to buy it. I love those songs. :)

MM, We haven't put out a CD in a while, but we're gearing up for one soon. I'll keep you posted!

That's so great, Deb! I hope you got a very warm welcome from the crowd.

Hi, I am from India and came over via NSIyer's blog. What an mazing multi=tasker you are! Gigs and books...OMG. And I just loved the bit about the cosy crime mystery (in your Agatha Christie post). As I am a bigtime crime-fiction buff and a major Christie-fan as well, I will love to read your book when it appears. All the best.

Debra Lynn Shelton said...

Kelly, Thanks for the compliments. We'll make the video a priority next time, I promise!

Uninvoked, I bet you've got lots of talents that I'd love to hear about. Thanks for stopping by - I hope you'll come back often!

Michelle, Glad you liked the pics. You can hear a few of our original songs at http://www.myspace.com/karmachain. That's me on lead vocals and Chuck and I on all the instruments.;-)

I wish I could've been there...and Ethan was so right, right?! I mean, if you can't have it together after 25 years, when can you?!

Debra Lynn Shelton said...

Anita, And he really was right. We played a few songs we hadn't rehearsed AT ALL and they sounded amazingly good! Who knew? Any news on when you're heading over the Big Pond?

You guys are adorable! Glad it went well.

Kiersten White said...

Okay young lady, how is it that I--I of the pathetically plain voice and mediocre-at-best music ability--have posted songs and you have not??

Debra Lynn Shelton said...

Kiersten, I can't hear you because I've got my hands over my ears and am yelling, "LA-LA-LA-LA-LA!!!"

Okay, fine. I promise, one of these days you''ll see a video...
