Love is a Many Fickled Thing

When my new love entered my life only six, short months ago, I had no idea how quickly we'd bond, how fast we'd fall in love, and how beautiful our relationship would be. But, love can be a fickle thing.

Two nights ago a third wheel entered the picture and has blown my new love affair to pieces. Why? Because the love of my life has fallen for another. And, if that's not bad enough, I found out they're already married and are planning a big family. Babies? So soon? How do they even know the relationship will last?

Here's a picture of the new couple. Don't they look despicably happy together? (At least they've got good taste in which blogs they follow.) And here's what their babies will undoubtedly look like:

As if that's not bad enough, they wasted no time participating in a menage a trois, despite the fact that I suggested this on numerous occasions and was turned down every single time! (Yeah, that's Tiger Lilly, the little hussy. She sure looks ready for a cigarette!)

To clear my mind from this vicious triangle, I got a shot of Zoro taking command of the new HD TV box we got. Thank goodness he was here to wrestle that little bastard to the ground!

So, what do you think about love? Is it evil? Is it kind? Does it leave you wanting more? Less? Is there a place for such fickleness in your life? I'm feeling a bit disillusioned, but then, I'm a writer, so I'm used to rejection.

As Lily Tomlin so eloquently put it, "If love is the answer, could you please rephrase the question?"

(For those of you wondering why I now have two laptops, it's because Chuck got jealous of my torrid love affair with my HP until he came to his senses and realized he needed some of that hot action for himself. It truly was love at first sight between my sweet lover and his. We're convinced they'll get married, have lots of babies (or "mini's" as they call them), and live happily ever after. When (not if) those happy events occur, I'll be sure to let you know!)

May they live a long and wonderful life together!
Your cat is such a tramp! ;)

Yeah, she is! Did you see that satisfied smirk on her face???

My HP and Ken's Compaq always lie together on the table, but we have yet to hatch any offspring. Perhaps they're barren (and I'll tell you the story behind that sometime).

I love the picture of Zoro...but did you guys buy just the HD TV box, or did you buy an actual HD TV as well? ;)

You are so funny, great, great post. I love my HP laptop too and you can never have too many. I still have my eye on a Mac. I was monogomous for years then finally ditched them for the PC. Now, I feel the pull to try out Macs again. I shall see. Love is indeed fickle. And who can blame the cat? The PCs are pretty open from that picture, right? Hey, when are we going to see Jamie singing on your blog???

you're such a freak.

I love you!! LMAO!!! You are seriously one of the funniest people I know! :-D

Beth, We've already got the killer TV (Samsung 48"). This box was a replacement for our older one that was dying a slow and painful death.

Barren PC's? OMG, that's so sad. I'd love to hear the story behind that!

Isn't Zoro cute? Well, as cute as a 17-lb cat can be, that is...

Lilly, You'll have a video of me singing as soon as my annoying, I mean amazing, friend, Mollie, comes and videotapes us. (Mollie, are you listening??? My fans can't wait forever, you know!) I'm not sure why she's shirking her responsibilities on this one. You might want to get on her case about it.

Mollie, You might want to check out the comment I just left for Lillie. Yeah, now who's the freak?

Debra Lynn Shelton said...

Traci, I love you, too, honey, but if I'm one of the funniest people you know you, need to get out more.

But seriously, thanks for the compliment - it means a lot. Making people laugh makes me happy.;-)

Can I adopt one of the minis? I REALLY REALLY want one of those. What a cute post! :D

Debra Lynn Shelton said...

Michelle, As soon as a mini is born, I'll let you know. Personally, I think they should put any and all of their minis up for adoption because, really - do those two look like they could raise a family? I think not!

I had just had to pop over to tell you I loved your comment on Lady Glamis' site today!

Wendy, Hah! I'm glad you liked it. I figured it was probably not PC, but then, that's not my forte!

Aw, computer love - it's a beautiful thing!

Love the Lily Tomlin quote too!

Debra Lynn Shelton said...

Kate, Yeah, I'd probably sell my kids before my laptop. Glad you liked the Lily Tomlin quote - she's one, funny gal!

I am going for a more exotic lover...a Macbook.

That's right. I'm about to embark on a love affair with fruit.

Debra Lynn Shelton said...

Julie, You hussy! You're no better than Tiger Lilly! I'm green with envy (and because green reminds me of a MacIntosh apple)! I crave a Mac, all the things I could to do it... If your new relationship doesn't work out, maybe you could give him my number.

Well, your place sure has some highly charged textual energy! Those kitty cats are so adorable and huggable, especially Zoro. :)

Debra Lynn Shelton said...

Val, I know, it's gotten pretty hot around here lately. (She said, fanning herself.) Zoro say, "Meow!" (That means "thanks!")

The minis... I just hope you're going to raise them to be Jewish.

At first, I thought the love of your life was your own blog.

Which I would totally understand.

Debra Lynn Shelton said...

Linda, Good point, although I firmly believe spirituality is a personal choice. I'll support whatever they choose. They've certainly got the means to do a great deal of research.;-)

Debra Lynn Shelton said...

Paul, I'll take that as a compliment. And, to clarify, my blog is not THE love of my life. It is merely one of the great loves of my life.;-)

They are so sweet together!! Mr. and Mrs. Laptops~ I'm the laptop user in my house whereas the hubby has a great big desk top that makes my little laptop screen like 4 inches wide~

May they create beautiful and happy memories together and never, ever get a std...I mean, computer virus that they spread to one another~

Rebecca, OMG - I forgot about all the nasty bugs out there these days! I better have Chuck talk to Mr. PC and make sure he's using protection. I'm pretty sure his Norton Anti-Virus is up-to-date, but in this day and age, it never hurts to be extra cautious.

Angie Ledbetter said...

So glad Mr. Chuck had an epiphany. :)

Debra Lynn Shelton said...

Angie, Yeah, it usually takes the male half of the species a little longer to catch on.;-)

Cats are SO helpful with computers.

I love your photo gallery!

I got my HP for Christmas, I would be lost without it now. I can't imagine pounding away in one statuary place with a normal computer now.

I just saw the mini's a couple of weeks ago. Maybe next Christmas? After all it would be what half the cost? (winks). (Hugs)Indigo

Debra Lynn Shelton said...

Ray, I'll put you on the list.;-)

Debra Lynn Shelton said...

Tena, Aren't they though? I'm glad you enjoyed the gallery!;-)

Debra Lynn Shelton said...

Indigo, Aren't the minis like the cutest things EVER? Having a laptop is like having AC in your car. You can never go back. Hugs right back atcha!

If you ever decide to throw them out of the bed, send them my way.

Mine looks like a grandmother next to those hotties.

No offense to any of the grandmothers. You were hot at one time.

My advice, be watchful of the next phase:
Sitting ten feet from your husband and emailing him. Been there, done that.
Who am I kidding, I am there.

Enjoy!

Debra Lynn Shelton said...

BBSD, I know, these two are smokin' hot! As much as I hate to admit it, they do make a pretty good pair. And, watch what you say about grandmothers. I know a a few who put these two little PC hotties to shame!

Debra Lynn Shelton said...

JD, OMG - We've already done that! How ultimately embarrassing is that? Of course, it was just to test out his new e-mail, um, yeah, that's all it was...
