Searching for Dusty...

It's ironic that right after my post about my beloved cats, one of them goes missing. Dusty - the one who gives apartment tours - is MIA. He's an indoor cat and is de-clawed. It's freezing outside. All four of us Schuberts are sick about it. Our collective hearts are breaking. He has a collar. I just hope and pray that he'll let someone get close enough to him to read it and give us a call. Sorry, no humor today, just sadness. Please send your prayers for Dusty's safe return...

Oh, poor Dusty! Praying he finds his way back very soon and all is well again.

It sounds crazy, but is there any way you can leave a basket of your dirty laundry outside? I know several people for whom this has worked--I guess the cat gets a whiff of the familiar and can find its way home. Good luck!

WE, Thanks for stopping by and thanks for the tip. I just set a basket of laundry out on our deck. Our neighbors already know we're crazy. This will just give them a little more evidence.

Wow...good tip...I'll have to remember that one...our cat is partial to our hamper, anyway.

Debra, if you need a distraction, I posted an interview with Lisa Lutz on my blog today...she's the one with the book jacket copy you liked.

Is there any chance Dusty could be hiding somewhere in your house? I know that sounds odd, but I've heard of times when cats disappeared, only to discover that they were hiding in a closet and the door had been closed, or something similar, and they were found a couple days later perfectly healthy & happy.

Here's hoping that's the case...
