I don't know about you, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE spring! The moment those darling buds wipe the sleep from their weary eyes and peak out from beneath their wooden beds, and the sun pushes the clouds away so it can shine a bit brighter, and the grass proudly reclaims itself by turning boldly green, I find myself smiling feeling that perfect blend of calm and fervor.
Spring is about moving on from cold, depressing days into new, unimaginable beginnings. The sadness discovered on a cold January morning seems less desperate and far more tolerable on a warm March day. Birds chirping and squirrels scampering proclaim the welcoming of a sweeter season.
My cats know it's spring. They line up against the kitchen sliders watching the new day blooming about. They stare up at the birds and paw at the glass. They want to be part of the transformation occurring in the mysterious "outside."
The pool knows it, too. It waits expectantly, realizing it's days in captivity are numbered. Soon it will be set free to, once again, become the destination of happiness, laughter, splashing and white wine.
Let the sun shine brighter still; let the grass turn green. I, for one, am spellbound by the darling buds of spring. D. L. Schubert

Beautifully put. Thank God it's warming up!
Sarah, Thank you, honey. Any chance of your attending Backspace in May? I'm all signed up and ready to go!
This is wonderful. Spring is indeed a time to reflect on the the unfailing process of renewal that we are blessed to behold in this life.I think the picture of our beautiful kitties says it all!!
Do we all have Spring today? I've been grousing for days about the grey skies and rain here on Vancouver Island. Suddenly, the sky is blue and the sun is shining. It's wonderful, isn't it?
I am so all about spring! I went for my first outside run the other day and it was AWESOME!!!! Fresh air, birds chirping, kids playing. Heaven...pure heaven.
Chuck, Renewal and the chance to start over is miraculous; just like our kitties.
Sandra, Yes, it is wonderful. And Vancouver - that's high on my list of "Top Places I Want to Visit!!!" Hopefully, one of these days...
Vivi, I couldn't agree more. Spring is Heaven...pure heaven. What a perfect way to say it!
Oh hip hurray for Spring! I'm originally a Jersey girl transplanted in New Hampshire.
Winter here is brutal!!!
So I'm loving the Spring, but not the mud or the blackflies.
I followed you and brought you up to 40 followers. That 39 must have been killing you!
Peace - Rene
Rene, You're a gem. It does feel good getting over that 39 hump! Plus, the 40's are the best decade. (That is, until I reach 50!!) I know the winters there are brutal. We lived in CT for five years. You've got to be tough to survive in New England! Down here in Philly we get a lot of rain, but not a great deal of snow. But, I've never done well with cold weather. It's just not my thing. Anyway, welcome aboard!
Yes! I completely agree. And what a lyrical tribute to warm spring weather! Nicely done. :)
I love spring...the earth waking up from it's winter's nap and everything just seems fresher and renewed.
MM, "I love spring...the earth waking up from it's winter's nap" beautifully put! And, I think we humans join the earth in stretching and yawning as well! Thanks for stopping by. I hope to see you back again.;-)
That was so lovely Debra. I wish we were having that weather here, but currently we're having another snow storm. Your cats are sweeties too!
Oh, Val - I'm sorry about your bad weather...;-( Hopefully, it will change soon... I'm glad you like the pic of the kitties! (That's half of them!!)
Love the picture of the cats!!
I love spring too. We've had a brutal winter. I love when our forest shows glimpses of green, then POW! it's all lush and green!
LOL! Your poor cats! And LOVE LOVE LOVE the spring too! I just love change, so my favorite holiday is whatever one is new! And man... I'm so jealous thinking of your pool! Sigh. Cute post! Jenni
Kelly, Sorry about your brutal winter. That just makes spring that much more wonderful. I know, aren't my cats awesome?!!
Jenni, My cats are a ridiculously important part of my life, but they keep me company all day while I write. And, um, yeah - I'm kind of lucky that I have a pool.;-)
Spring has sprung! Love the cat picture, way too cute. Happy Spring to you!
Your post reminds me of the Spring song in Bambi. In a good way! You spin it so well!
Joanne, Happy spring to you as well! I loved it in CT when it would get warm enough to walk down by the water. Boy do I miss that!
SK, Bambi was one of the saddest movies I ever saw in my life. (I know, I need to get out more.) I don't remember the Spring song, but I'm sure it's beautiful. And, thank you for stopping by and for your lovely compliment. Much appreciated and I hope you'll stop by again.;-)
Ah, what a beautiful post!!! I LOVE spring, too. You have captured some wonderful things about it. It has been snowing here ALL week, but I'm hoping it will lift soon. My heart aches to see those buds. :)
Cute cats!
It's Spring in PA? Is that in the same time zone as Michigan? Cuz it ain't quite Spring here.
(I want to go for a bike ride.)
My pool is more a destination of frustration, anger, and befuddlement. But some day, after spending a few thousand more dollars on it, we might be able to actually enjoy the thing.
Lady G, Thank you. Snowing all week? Where are you? I'm so over winter right now, I don't think I could take a whole week of snow!
Ray, Sorry, dude. We're east coast time here and yes, spring is creeping in. Michigan? Isn't that right below Antarctica?;-)
Paul, Our pool is only three years old, so we're still in the "awe" stage. I can't wait to dip my toes in that baby! And, who knows, maybe I'll throw caution to the wind and dunk the rest of myself in as well.;-)
It seems that every year I think to myself, it can't really be as nice as I remember it.
And then it always is.
Jamie, Ain't that the truth! And, although I'm not a religious person, I have to say, Amen!
I love spring, too, but not so much this year. We're fighting a flood and just had a blizzard with the possibility of another on the way. Fun!

Lynette, Ouch. I didn't mean to rub our moderate weather in the faces to all of the northerners out there! I hope you get through it soon so you, too, can enjoy the darling buds of spring.;-)
Its too hot here in India. I do not really call for the sun but call for cooler climes. Nice to be back.
I've recently cursed my entire region with bad weather, so I will not say the S plus ring word around you just in case my bad luck is contageous!
I adore that picture of the kitties because it reminds me of my 3 furry friends and how they wait patiently by the door for me to let them outside.
Rebecca
My cat is staring out the window at SNOOOOWWWW!
Nsiyer, Ah, yes, India! Another place I dream of visiting. I would imagine you rejoice when the weather is cooler! Like anything, it's all relative.
Rebecca, Yeah I think I read about your dreaded curse on MSNBC news. You, my friend, have some serious power! (Could you slip me the winning lottery numbers? I promise to share.) Like MasterCard, that picture of the kitties is priceless!
Anita, OMG! Kristin Nelson did mention you guys were expecting a storm today. I guess it hit! Enjoy it, since it should be one of the last of the season. My parents and one of my sisters and her family who live in Denver are currently on a Caribbean cruise. Good timing!!
Oh that is a great picture of the cats - just lovely. spring is my favourite time of year too although now we are in Autumn here although it doesnt get too cold. Hey I hope you enjoy Tommy - go Aussie go!!!
Lilly, Thanks, I love spring almost as much as I love my little feline friends. I'm looking forward to being totally "wowed" tonight. You Aussies are so brilliant, beautiful and talented!
Isn't spring just the best? I love it too.
Debbie, Yes it is! It was 60 degrees outside at 11PM tonight. :-)
Debra:
I'm in the Wasatch Mountains. :)
LG - I had to look this up. Utah, huh? It looks like a magnificently beautiful place! I imagine you're quite inspired living there. (Even with all the snow!)
