Okay, folks, I've edited a bit and tried to make this VLOG as intriguing as possible. May I present me and Awesome Agent (the incredible Bernadette Baker-Baughman of Baker's Mark Literary Agency) in NYC. Let me know what you think!
Sorry about the darkness and the background noise. Steven Spielberg has nothing to fear from me.

This super informative thank you!!!! You guys are so fun!
I must say the one thing that will stick with me forever is that sending out a Query letter is much like waiting on hold for AT&T that is the best example I've ever gotten!!!
Jen, I'm glad you "got" that important tip. Query letter = ATT.
Glad you enjoyed the vlog!
Agent + Q&A + green beer = FTW.
Translation: that was sincerely awesome. Thank you for posting this!
Wow... Deb. I love it! You guys were so funny and very helpful. YAY! : )
Schube, that really was awesome. I can feel the genuine chemistry and mutual affection! Wheee. So happy for you. Lurved the subtitles. LOL
My brain is still trying to combine 'War and Peace' with 'Lolita'. Help! Explosion imminent!
That was fun! Very informative & helpful :)
Ruthanne, So glad you liked it! It was much fun to do. ;-)
Kimberly, Helpful? Seriously? Did you watch the video? (Kidding! Of course you did. And, yes, one of us with the initials BBB was very helpful.)
Angie, Yeah, it really is true love. Glad you liked the subtitles - it was my first attempt! (How's the partying going down your way?)
David, Great combo - I'm surprised it hasn't already been written! Welcome to my humble abode, btw! Glad you stopped by.
Jemi, So glad you liked it! ;-)
Put this up on my blog and NOW I'm e-mailing it out to those who will flatter me because of it!!! :)
THANK YOU for doing the Q&A with Bernadette...and indulging me in my superfluous question, Debs!! You probably already know how exciting it is to even hear an agent say something to you as a writer! This truly will be making me smile for a very long time!!!
I hope u have pics from ur trip too!! I want to see all of it- the statue of liberty, fire hydrants, the employees David Letterman shagged, and every pretzel cart you went by!!! :)
HUGS AND LOVE!!!!
Penny, I'm so glad you loved the vlog. Maybe you'll send me a special batch of (chocolate!!) cupcakes someday? Hugs forever, ;-)
Karen, Here's a link from Agent Rachelle Gardner that may help: http://cba-ramblings.blogspot.com/2009/11/my-final-comments-on-self-pub.html
Again, my thoughts are with you and your mom. Hang in there and take care.
Debra...CONGRATULATIONS! This was adorable and how thoughtful of you to think of your followers in the midst of such a huge score for you personally!
Loved this idea and when the time comes for me, I might do the exact same thing but of course, give you guys complete and total credit.
The snow here was indeed apocalyptic. The fact that you made it to meet speaks volumes to your commitment.
GOOD LUCK and CONTRATS again!
Stephaine
Stephanie, I'm so glad you liked it, and believe me, you can take this [not too] original idea and run with it! I wish you the best of luck with your career and can't wait to see your agent/author vlog. ;-)
So glad you guys finally got to meet!
omg I love both of your personalities. this was super fun and informative!
Daisy, Thanks, me too!!!!
Sara, I'm so glad you liked it! It was a blast to do. We're meeting again in May and will do another. ;-)
That was awesome AND informative! And I just have to say, you have great camera presence and I think vlogging was an excellent idea! Keep it up!
Ha Ha ! Well, that certainly was fun, not to mention informative:-)
So ,let me be clear.
1. Write your book
2. Submit with query that takes well over 24 hrs to complete.
3. Hope for the best and don't hang up.
Am I close? LOL!
You both rock!
Dorothy, You are a sweetheart. Thank you so very much. I'd take up acting if only I could remember my name. And, yes, there will be more vlogs. BTW, did you see my one and only other vlog so far? Here's the link:

Cynthia, You're not close, my friend, you NAILED it!!! Glad you enjoyed the ride. There will be more. ;-)
Ummm... simply awesome. Enough said. :)
Felt like I was right there with you!
Suzy, Can't wait to hear your "final" story... ;-)
Glad you enjoyed the vlog!
Work from home India
I corrected her location! I should have checked it! :)
And-yes-I will send u some treats one day!...but only for you. No children are allowed to take any. Their hands contaminate chocolate-reference 'Augustus Gloop of 'WIlly Wonka'!:)
Penny, You couldn't pay me to share my cupcakes w/my kids! What do you think I am, generous, I mean crazy? [Mmmm, cupcakes!]
Debra, the best part was seeing that you can actually have fun with AA, and make us laugh too! I was cooking dinner and watching it last night, and laughing so loud, my husband came in to see if I was okay! Loved the question about grammar! When I first started submitting my work in my classes with Pat Giff, I used to have major angst, not always certain that every single bit of my grammar was picture perfect. I now know that it'd better be. But then that is the path of the writer! I asked my sixth graders what they thought about that question and they looked at me. One of the girls eventually raised her hand and said, "Um...well, uh-yah...grammar has to count, right?" Damn straight, I wanted to say...but of course, I used that dose of restraint that fortunately comes with the turf! What are you doing for an encore?!
Gael, I'm so glad I made you laugh! An encore will be tough by myself, but I'll do the best I can. I'll be seeing AA again in May, so we'll definitely do another vlog.
And, yeah be sure to tell your 6th graders that gramur shurly maturs!
LOL! And spelling two, write?!
Wow thank you so much ladies for answering my question!!!! That was actually pretty entertaining to watch and yes, I mean that in a good way.
And surprisingly, I do feel like the answer to my question was clarifying. I'm going to write what my heart tells me and will be ecstatic to be writing it for the next ten years.
Thank you again!!!
T. Anne, Thanks for the question, and I'm glad you feel it helped. We'll be doing another vlog together in May, so if you've got any more questions, let me know & I'll be sure to ask her live and in person. ;-)
You two seem like such a great team! =) Thank you muchly for the vlog, I enjoyed watching it a lot. *g*
Carolin, I'm so glad you enjoyed the vlog - it was so much fun to do. Can't wait to do it again! ;-)

Dear Best Friend (on your blog, you said you'd be my best friend if I follow you, and now I am, so there ya go and here she be)
I found your post on Rachelle Gardner's blog and followed the breadcrumbs here. I enjoyed your vlog and, like others, appreciate the query letter = ATT thing, plus the other answers. I also really appreciated that glimpse of what an author-agent relationship can be like.
Thanks to both of you.
Corra, So glad you liked it. And you should, vlog I mean - it's FUN!!!
Kate, Thank you so much for following the bread crumbs. I try to leave them wherever I go so I don't get lost. And, yes, you're now my BFF. Wanna go get a mani and a pedi? ;-)
That was a great video!!
Thanks for sharing.
Tina, My pleasure. So glad you liked it!
Hi! This is just a quick note to let you know I linked this article in my February review at Wordpress. I can't figure out how to do trackbacks to Blogger. I'm also tweeting it either tonight or tomorrow.
