Have I told you how great my life is? As they say, a picture's worth a thousand words. Here are a few from our anniversary weekend in beautiful Avon by the Sea "down the shore" in NJ, not far from Asbury Park where Bruce Springsteen grew up.
I promise all these photos are G-rated. I'm saving the X-rated ones for a later post! (You're welcome or I'm sorry, depending on your preference.)

The first night we were there a wicked storm blew through. I love a good storm, and this one was a doozie! There were cloud formations like we'd never seen, rain pouring down in sheets, and thunder and lightening so bright and frequent that it felt like a prelude to the upcoming 4th of July fireworks.
That night we were seated at table 27. This number is significant to us because it's the day we got married, and it's our favorite number. In fact, before we called our musical selves Karma Chain, we were known as 27 Dreams.
Also, while we were there, we drove by a party in a VERY upscale neighborhood and nearly traded paint with a black Bentley - that's how close we were. The guy driving the mansion of a car looked down upon us in our Lexus SUV like it was a beat-up Dodge Dart and we'd just escaped from the local prison.
IN OTHER NEWS...
I finished my edit on MURDER ON TWILIGHT CIRCLE a few hours ago and am getting ready to send it to the agent who requested the full. There's also an agent who has the first six chapters. (They're both INCREDIBLE agents. I'm beyond blessed to have them read my work.) In addition, I'll be writing the query and will start marketing MTC as the first in a cozy mystery series later this week.
It was a great weekend. Wish you were there. (Have I mentioned I don't always tell the truth on my blog?) I hope you enjoy the pics!

Great pics and it looks like you had such a wonderful time! And I have to say that Chuck looks like one helluva a happy guy. :)
Great news about your book! I'm so glad it's going well, and I look forward to hearing good news. Hugs, Beth
Congratulations on your book! That's so exciting!
I'm glad that you had a chance to spend some good time together. Sometimes it takes just stepping away and doing something different.
Aww, thanks for sharing! My anniversary day is the 27th of December. 27 is just a darn good number. Good luck with the partial and the full! Oh my goodness, I'm excited for you! Keep us posted please.
*is very interested about those x rated pictures....*
I have been there. I live in NJ and it is not that far from me.
Glad you had a wonderful time.
I've been thinking of your young friend, and I hope things are improving, even slightly, in her life. ~Mary
Congrats on finishing the edit, best wishes on the agent read! Looks like you had an amazing weekend. We were on Long Island for an Aerosmith concert, and that same storm blew through. The lightning just wouldn't stop for awhile there. The show was postponed an hour, but thankfully, it did go on!
X-rated? :::perk:::
You have my attention!
Looks like you are having a fantastic time! And congrats on the new book. So exciting.
Looks like a beautiful place
Glad you had a great getaway. Kudos on the book :o)
I am so looking forward to your book - and enjoying your weekend pictures. It seems you got the best of everything that weekend, a storm in the night and some sunshine for walking the beach. Cool.
Great news on the writing, and the trip looks like great fun.
When did they start selling Avon down the shore? :)
Beth, We did have a great time, and of course Chuck looks happy. I mean, look who he's married to!!!;-)
CCD, Thanks, it is exciting. Stepping away is not only a good thing, it's vital sometimes. I feel refreshed!
Michelle, The 27th is the best! Our birthdays are both in December, so it's nice to have the anniversary in the summer. I promise to keep you posted on the book.
Mary, She's moved back home and things seem to be okay. Of course, that's until the next break down. His hearing was postponed until 7/9. We'll see what, if anything, happens then.
Joanne, I hope you gave Steven a big, juicy kiss for me (and flashed him, of course). Seriously, they rock the cosmos - I hope the show was great!
Julie, You're a naughty, naughty girl. That's why I like you.;-)
Wendy, It was truly one of the best weekends EVER! I'll keep you posted on the book...
ABS, It's a really beautiful place. Can't wait to go back!
Ken, Thanks and thanks.;-)
Sandra, Yup, we lucked out. A fantastic storm the first night, a calm night for our anniversary, and beautiful beach days. Picture perfect!
Angie, I picked up some lip stick and mascara for you. Let me know where I should send it.;-)
Good luck on the subs. May the force be with ya in a literary kind of way.
Tracy, From you lips to Spock's pointy ears!
I like hearing about the reqs -- that's exactly how it starts to happen.
You should celebrate by posting more pictures.
Ray, I see your agent was all over Publisher's Marketplace today. I can't wait to see your name in the New Deals section!
More pics, huh? I wonder which ones you're referring to...;-)
Hey girl! So great to see you, and so great to see you looking so happy! Congratulations on your anniversary. What were you celebrating last time? You are always celebrating. I love your life. I want your life. But what's this with the truth thing? Does that mean you don't want company or that you really did just break out of the big house, hmmmm?
Judith, I always want your company! And, I doubt you really want my life, believe me, it's not all butterflies and cotton candy. I don't think we were celebrating anything in May. Chuck just joined me after the conferences to see "Wicked" on Broadway and the John Lennon exhibit. Actually, I take that back. Every day is a celebration, so yeah, we were celebrating!;-)
OMG - I spent the summer of 1976 in Avon by the Sea. My college roommate and I worked as waitresses at a restaurant in Asbury Park. Spent our Tuesdays and Thursdays at DrinknDrown at the Norwood Inn. Saturday nights at the old Avon Inn that burned a few years later. I so loved it there. Springsteen, plus Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes at the Stone Pony.
Congrats on the anniversary and the book.
MJ, We drove through Asbury Park and kept an eye out for the Stone Pony, but didn't see it it. Do you know if it's still around?
Aw loved the photos of you both and glad you had a great weekend. And Deb, you have fantastic legs!!
Lilly, We did have a great time! And I owe my legs to my mom - hers are amazing!!!
My family and I would head down to Avon-by-the-Sea for the day when I lived in NJ. (Sob, sob...how I miss the shore!!!). Lucky you! It's a great place.
