I've been asked by some of my auspicious colleagues about my book. As I summed it up on Ray's blog, "Sparks Fly Sometimes" is about a rock goddess turned domestic goddess turned rock goddess. With a whole lot of other shit in between!;-)
My wonderful copy editor, Karen Carter, has told me to start a website featuring pictures and stories from back in the day. (Mid to late '80s.) Until I get to that, I thought you might enjoy a few photos from Jenny's, I mean my, days as a rock goddess. (I can hear you, so keep your laughter to a low roar.)
Pictures: Top - Crescent Wind (Pre-27 Dreams) Band Photo, My "Stevie" phase. My husband, Chuck is Frankenstein with suspenders in the middle.; me performing live; singing in a studio; during set-up before the Colorado People's Fair (notice Elvis on the drum!)
And, if you're curious to hear the music click here or here. (FYI: Our name is Karma Chain and my stage name is Jamie Keys.)

Oh I can definitely see the Stevie influence with the scarves, boots and I see a little bit of Stevie's attitude there! Looks like you had so much fun living the musician life, I'll bet you have lots of nice memories. I can't wait to read that book ;)
I'm glad you clarified about the work being fiction. After reading your "About Me" section, I figured it was an autobiography. Either way, it sounds like a fun story! I'm so jealous. My life is nowhere near that interesting.
You've probably mentioned this before, but where are you in the writing process? Is SFS finished or still a WIP? Thanks for keeping us all updated with everything so we can cheer you on!
Joanne, It was definitely a wild ride for a while. I'm lucky to have the memories and to still have our music in our lives.
L.C., Like I said, some of it's true and some of it's fiction. And the book is complete. Until someone asks for a full, however, I'll keep on tweaking and querying. (I've got three requested partials "out there"...)
Thank you SO much for posting the picture of Nate... I mean CHUCK...
I really needed a good laugh today.
Now I need something to make me STOP laughing....
Mollie, You're so very welcome. Have you stopped laughing yet? Also, how's my chair coming along? Don't forget... Coyote Crossing!!!
I want to know if your husband was in medical school or residency during this phase. Those guys get so little sleep as it is -- can't imagine staying out late playing gigs too.
Wow, look at you. Sexay thang.
Ray, He wasn't in med school yet. He didn't start until he was 32!
Wendy, Sexay thang? Ah, the good old days...
Very neat with the pics from back in the day. Good memories from the era myself.
Rage on with your querying and tweaking, friend!
Loved the Stevie look...have you seen her lately? She still looks great.
Angie, I'm a querying and tweaking maniac. Glad you liked the pics.;-)
Anita, I know. She's still amazing. We just saw her again last year. I can never get too much Stevie!
OMG, these are great! I can't stop smiling, they're just classic. Also couldn't stop smiling while I read your chapters this morning. You're on a roll! K.
p.s. thanks for the link!
I'm better now...phew.
Work on the chair takes place tomorrow. I need a clamp and can't find mine in the shop, so a trip to HD is required. Did we set a date for Coyote Crossing?
Oh my god, those pictures are truly amazing! The book should sell on those alone.
Karen, You're way too kind! I'm glad you enjoyed the pics and the chapters. ;-)
Mollie, We don't set a date until my chair is good as new. (How about 2/21?)
Sarah, From your lips to the Big Guy/Gal upstairs ears!!
Oh, those 80's! Laughing...but how cool to be in a band! Something you'll always have in your live resume - wow!
Great pictures!
