I've raised the white flag. (Or, in this case the red, white and blue one.) I've lost the fight. Winter has won.
In stark contrast to my cruise pictures, here are some shots I took today outside my house. The last one I took inside my house. In fact, I took it inside my oven.
After all, what are snow days for if not for baking brownies?
What are you doing to get through this relentless winter? Any tips involving chocolate will be greatly appreciated.

We've had our (hopefully) one freak snowfall already. Our winters are usually in the upper 30's/lower-40's, gray, and drizzly. And even that has us whining for our raging hot summers come mid-January.
I drink lots of tea and keep my bootie slippers on at all times.
And I made brownies last night too.
It's a winter wonderland here, too. The first couple rounds are all pretty, now I just pine for spring. And mostly, I cuddle with puppies and hibernate until blue comes back to the sky. :)
Now that's a lot of snow! It's so pretty!
Summer, I love your name. Need I say more given the context of this post?
Julie, I'm pining right there with you, my friend. Bring on those darling buds of spring!
Kimberly, It is pretty. When you're looking at a picture. ;-))) (Whenever I have chocolate I think of you. Awesome.)
Hot chocolate and pajamas on by 5:30 p.m. is my remedy! Hang in there. ;)
Our power just came back on. Thank god, I think we were starting to get on each others nerves :D
The brownies look yummy.
And, I'm done with winter now too and ready to move to Hawaii I think.
Double the snow, and you could be right here with me. I even baked, too -- I'm not a kitchen person, but it sure seemed like the thing to do.
BG, I like the way you think. :-)
Stacia, Hawaii? TAKE ME WITH YOU!!!
Linda, Double the snow? Oy vey! And, yes, baking lessens all problems.
It's so gorgeous, the snow. To look at. In Austin, it's much warmer of course, and no white stuff on the ground, but we're getting an arctic blast this week. If it's going to be that cold, it needs to snow, I think. Ours never stays on the ground.
I may get my wish!
